IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RENTALS
On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with Campabout Oz . Here is a summary of their terms and conditions:
DEFINITIONS

- "The Supplier" means the operator Campabout Oz
- "You" is also referred to as the hirer (s) or the renter (s).
STANDARD PAYMENT TERMS
* The initial deposit is collected upon confirmation of your booking, using your nominated credit card.
* This initial deposit paid is non-refundable in all circumstances.
* The balance of your hire is due upon arrival/collection of your vehicle.
* A bond amount is also payable upon arrival and is fully refundable upon the return of your vehicle, providing the Terms of hire have been met. NOTE: The bond is payable with or without any independent excess reduction policies. Please read and understand your hire Terms and Policy Terms respectively and enquire if you have any questions.
SPECIAL PAYMENT TERMS
* The Total cost of your hire (excluding additional items, payable upon arrival) will be collected in full, at the time of confirmation, if you have elected to process your booking in a currency that is different to AUD.
* The Total cost of your hire (excluding additional items, payable upon arrival) may be collected in full, at the time of confirmation, if you placed your booking within 14 days of the pick up date.
CANCELLATION FEES
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
If cancelled 25 days or more prior to pick up - $250
If cancelled 7-21 days prior to pick up- 20% of the total rental (minimum $250)
If cancelled less than 7 days prior to pick up- 50% of net rental.
If cancelled on the day of pick up or NO show- 100% of rental
No refund for late pick up or early return. TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly advise renters take out highest level of travel insurance available.

All credit card transactions are conducted in Australian Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially deposited.
DRIVERS LICENCE-MINIMUM AGE
A current driver's licence is required and if not in the English language then an international driver's licence is also required. The licence must be held for a period of 2 years prior and be valid for the entire length of the rental. The original license must be shown at the time of pick –up with the driver present. The minimum age is 21 years and 25 years for the Land cruiser 100 series.
LPG GAS
The gas bottle is supplied full. For refill costs: $25- Hitop campervan + Hilux. $35- 4/6 Berth motor homes. All gas must be turned off when driving and sleeping. YOU MUST REFILL LPG. RETURN W/RECEIPT OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
2WD vehicles may only be driven on sealed bitumen roads or well maintained access roads less then 500m long to recognised camping grounds. 4WD are restricted to major recognised 4wd unsealed roads, if unsure ask. Any vehicles bogged down in areas not covered by HEMA maps are at the cost of recovery and liability to the client.
RENTAL EXTENSION
If the customer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire they must first obtain permission from the supplier reservations who will advise the additional costs. Rental extension is subject to fleet availability. The extra cost must be paid by credit card on the day the extension confirmed either at our office or over the phone- failure to do so will result in renter being charged double the gross daily rate.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
We reserve the right to charge the renter for any traffic violations, parking fines, speeding tickets or road toll fines, an additional $60 per fine will be incurred to cover the processing fee. If one of our vehicles is confiscated under the Anti Hoon laws in WA then the renter is responsible for the costs i.e. off road 28 days, next rental lost, compensation, etc.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute to an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to a refund.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
In the event of no alternative vehicle being available to the renter our liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge or in the case of mechanical failure (unless caused by renter) the remainder of the hire period.
IMPORTANT
We reserve the right to refuse rental to a renter at our discretion without details or reasons.
In the unfortunate event of a mechanical breakdown, please ring our office in the 1st instance. If outside business hours please ring RAC breakdown assistance on 131111 quoting the vehicle rego. Please be aware, if the problem is not our liability eg, punctures ,tyre problems, flattened batteries etc, you will be responsible for all costs.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
The supplier highly advises hirer's take out highest level of travel insurance available. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
PROTECTION PACKAGE
Personal injury- This vehicle has 3rd party insurance cover, it is likely that any other vehicle involved in an accident also has this same cover (3rd party). In the outcome of an accident, circumstances depending the renter may be entitled to claim for personal injury against the 3rd party insurance of the person responsible for the accident. The extent of the insurance differs from State to State and the supplier strongly recommends that all passengers take out their own personal travel insurance.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
The vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of the 3rd party. However the renter is responsible: Up to the amount of the applicable liability for the cost of such damage to 3rd party property, or to the rented vehicle. The renters also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental. In addition to the liability: An administration fee of $75 will be charged per claim. The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to the supplier, not at the completion of the rental period. If a vehicle is damaged and undriveable, the supplier is under no obligation to supply a replacement vehicle or refund any unused rental days.
STANDARD-LIABILITY
‘The suppliers’ rental charge includes a standard liability of $3500 per claim. A bond of $3500 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. Payment of this bond is only accepted by credit card and unfortunately a 2% surcharge will apply. The $3500 will be debited to the credit card account immediately.
The standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following options:
REDUCTION OPTION 1
A Liability of $2000 per claim applies. This option can be purchased by paying to the supplier $20 per day. The maximum amount payable for this option per rental is $1000 – therefore 50 days rental.
A Bond of $2000 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. Payment of this Bond is only accepted by credit card and again, a 2% surcharge will apply. The $2000 will be debited to the credit card account immediately.
REDUCTION OPTION 2
A $500 Liability per claim applies. This option can be purchased by paying the supplier $30 per day. The maximum amount payable for this option per rental is $1500- therefore 50 days rental. Under this option for rentals over 21 days one windscreen will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the renter.
A bond of $1000 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. This bond is payable to the supplier by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorisation obtained (sufficient funds must be available).
BOND
For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a bond. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the Bond upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is severally inclusively liable for any damage to the rental vehicle.
The bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned to the original location – or location as contractually states, full of fuel and all other terms of the Terms and Conditions been complied with. Should damage be present to the vehicle on its return, the bond will be used to cover the costs of repairs up to the amount of the liability. However is terms of the rental contract are breached and the bond not enough to cover damage than any other costs will apply.
FULL RESPONSIBILTY
The renter is responsible for the cost at all times for:
• Damage caused where terms of the Rental contract have been breached
• Any vehicles in unauthorised area
• Damage to the Awning, overhead, or under body of the vehicle
• Damage caused from the use of incorrect fuel or contaminated fuel
• Damage or loss to any personal possessions
• Damage caused to the vehicle when using the vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic
• Damage caused to the vehicle by the renters wilful conduct
• Damage caused due to a single vehicle rollover
• Damage caused to the vehicle in anyway by part or total water submersion or salt water
• Damage caused by negligence i.e. ignoring mechanical faults causing more severe damage
• Single vehicle accidents and accidents involving animals
• (Driving in darkness is incredibly dangerous in the Australian Outback)
Please note- All accidents will be classed as single vehicle accidents unless all the verifiable documentation of the other party and their vehicle is supplied i.e. Rego, Drivers License and possible witness statements.

CHILD SEAT POLICY
Children up to six months old
• Must be in a rearward-facing restraint with built-in five-point safety harness.
•Are not permitted in the front seat of vehicles with two or more rows of seats.
Children from six months to four years old
•Must be in a rear or forward-facing restraint with an built-in five-point harness.
• Are not permitted in the front seat of vehicles with two or more rows of seats.
Children from four to seven years old
•Must be in a forward-facing restraint with built-in safety harness or a booster seat with a lap sash seatbelt (this means a standard fitted seatbelt, not a lap-only belt) or a child safety harness.
•If sitting in the front seat must use an approved child restraint or booster seat.
• Are not permitted in the front seat unless all rear seats are occupied by children less than seven years old.
Children who exceed weight / size guidelines for existing restraints will be able to use restraints suitable for the next age group.
Although an official date has not been set for the introduction of the WA laws, all parents and carers are urged to begin complying with the new laws as soon as possible.
The new laws will reduce the risk of injury caused by the use of unsuitable restraints for a child’s size by specifying the type of restraint to be used at different ages and where children must be seated in a vehicle.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
The supplier highly advises hirer's take out highest level of travel insurance available. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
PROTECTION PACKAGE
Personal injury- This vehicle has 3rd party insurance cover, it is likely that any other vehicle involved in an accident also has this same cover (3rd party). In the outcome of an accident, circumstances depending the renter may be entitled to claim for personal injury against the 3rd party insurance of the person responsible for the accident. The extent of the insurance differs from State to State and the supplier strongly recommends that all passengers take out their own personal travel insurance.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
The vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of the 3rd party. However the renter is responsible: Up to the amount of the applicable liability for the cost of such damage to 3rd party property, or to the rented vehicle. The renters also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental. In addition to the liability: An administration fee of $75 will be charged per claim. The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to the supplier, not at the completion of the rental period. If a vehicle is damaged and undriveable, the supplier is under no obligation to supply a replacement vehicle or refund any unused rental days.
STANDARD-LIABILITY
‘The suppliers’ rental charge includes a standard liability of $3500 per claim. A bond of $3500 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. Payment of this bond is only accepted by credit card and unfortunately a 2% surcharge will apply. The $3500 will be debited to the credit card account immediately.
The standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following options:
REDUCTION OPTION 1
A Liability of $2000 per claim applies. This option can be purchased by paying to the supplier $20 per day. The maximum amount payable for this option per rental is $1000 – therefore 50 days rental.
A Bond of $2000 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. Payment of this Bond is only accepted by credit card and again, a 2% surcharge will apply. The $2000 will be debited to the credit card account immediately.
REDUCTION OPTION 2
A $500 Liability per claim applies. This option can be purchased by paying the supplier $30 per day. The maximum amount payable for this option per rental is $1500- therefore 50 days rental. Under this option for rentals over 21 days one windscreen will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the renter.
A bond of $1000 will be collected at the time of entering into the rental contract. This bond is payable to the supplier by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorisation obtained (sufficient funds must be available).
BOND
For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a bond. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the Bond upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is severally inclusively liable for any damage to the rental vehicle.
The bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned to the original location – or location as contractually states, full of fuel and all other terms of the Terms and Conditions been complied with. Should damage be present to the vehicle on its return, the bond will be used to cover the costs of repairs up to the amount of the liability. However is terms of the rental contract are breached and the bond not enough to cover damage than any other costs will apply.
FULL RESPONSIBILTY
The renter is responsible for the cost at all times for:
• Damage caused where terms of the Rental contract have been breached
• Any vehicles in unauthorised area
• Damage to the Awning, overhead, or under body of the vehicle
• Damage caused from the use of incorrect fuel or contaminated fuel
• Damage or loss to any personal possessions
• Damage caused to the vehicle when using the vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic
• Damage caused to the vehicle by the renters wilful conduct
• Damage caused due to a single vehicle rollover
• Damage caused to the vehicle in anyway by part or total water submersion or salt water
• Damage caused by negligence i.e. ignoring mechanical faults causing more severe damage
• Single vehicle accidents and accidents involving animals
• (Driving in darkness is incredibly dangerous in the Australian Outback)
Please note- All accidents will be classed as single vehicle accidents unless all the verifiable documentation of the other party and their vehicle is supplied i.e. Rego, Drivers License and possible witness statements.
